Context:

GIRLS LIKE GIRLS was a high profile project for first-time author Hayley Kiyoko at Wednesday Books. Part way through the project, it became clear we needed original line drawings throughout the text to break things up visually. I hired Rhys Davies who turned those around wonderfully after we brainstormed (with author input) what style of images would work with the text. We landed on simple line drawings of important elements from the story, which were also used in the composition notebook-inspired endpapers. I designed the endpapers with an opportunity for fans to write their names somewhere special in their copies. An instant #1 NYT Bestseller with a large print run.

Tasks:

Art direction, endpaper design, case stamp and color design, and typesetting entire book (including complicated social media formatting).
